UPDATE: Diagnostic Assessments for DSA evidence
The Department for Education has confirmed that SpLD diagnostic assessments used for DSAs purposes are to have been carried out by APC holders and HCPC-registered psychologists
calendar29/03/2019

The Department for Education has confirmed that SpLD diagnostic assessments used for DSAs purposes are to have been carried out by APC holders and HCPC-registered psychologists. This will be the case regardless of the age of the learner at the time of the assessment. From February 2019, for a student at any age, a diagnostic assessment that meets SASC guidelines produced by a specialist teacher assessor with a current APC or suitably qualified psychologist at the time of assessment will be accepted as evidence for Disabled Student Allowance.

They will review this in 12 months' time.

The DfE notes a SSIN [Student Support Information Note] will be published shortly.
