Disabled Student Allowances
Disabled Student Allowances help to
support disabled students in Higher Education. They are intended to help a disabled
student undertake their course on an equal basis to other students. These funds
are administered by Student Finance England Guidance chapters on eligibility
requirements are regularly updated and are available from the SFE Practitioners

Assessors providing diagnostic
assessments for students with Specific Learning Difficulties should follow the
guidelines under the framework established by the 2005 working group:
Assessors
should be suitably qualified, holding current practising certificate from their
relevant professional body:

practitioner psychologists registered with the HCPC,
- specialist teacher assessors a current
SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate
Diagnostic
assessment reports should

use report format recommended in the SpLD Working Group 2005/DfES Guidelines and subsequent updates.

use
tests recommended in the SpLD Working Group 2005/DfES Guidelines and
subsequently updated by SASC/STEC.

training provision leading to Assessment Practising Certificates can apply to
